Like you, I am confused by the notion that Grindr, an app that seems specifically designed for anonymous and semi-anonymous hookups, is what led mainstream society to finally accept gayness.

Literally my first thought when I saw this was "oh, it's an app for unicorn hunters," so if you're paranoid...me, too.

In my experience everyone on woman4woman Tindr is bicurious lol. It's been way more bisexual than any other app I've used (party because of all the unicorn hunters unfortunately).

This seems like it might be helpful for cis bi men who want to date women, who can face a lot of stigma for disclosing their sexuality in hetero contexts and are abiguously welcome in more sapphic-focused environments. But not for anyone else.

i have so many thoughts on this, but ultimately my take is that if i ever had the money & resources to make an app for bisexuals, it would be like a directory where people could post about bisexual events happening in the area, bisexual centers them, bisexual friendly therapists & doctors etc .. i am allergic to the whole idea of dating apps & how impersonal they seem so i’m not sure i would be keen on this personally but idk!!

Yeah, not for me. And ouch, I thought I looked awkward on camera.

Like you, I'm not keen on the photo -> swipe apps . I think OKCupid now has an option to hide your profile from straight people? I'm not 100% sure, I tried it again a couple of years ago but so many of the features were pay to use, and then I deleted because reasons.

Lex is probably the most "for lesbians" app I can think of, even if it has branched out to be more open to different genders and orientations since it launched.
